Charles needed to suppress the rebellion in Scotland. He didn't have enough money, however, he needed to seek money from a newly elected English Parlimant in 1640. The majority faction in the new Parliament, led by John Pym, took this appeal for money as an opportunity to discuss grievances against the Crown, and opposed the idea of an English invasion of Scotland. Charles took exception to this and dissolved the Parliament after only a few weeks; hence the name "the Short Parliament".
then Camelong parlliament came into place after cromwells death. general monk (the comander of the north army) he went to westminster to recall the long parliment monk new that parliamentary goverment had to be restored or civil war would brake out again. after all was done an election was held and the new parliament desided to retore the monarchy and the house of lords. in 1660 they invited charlesII to become king ( a vary popular decision)

The return of Charles II and the Restoration brought social change. Puritanism was becoming less popular, and theaters which closed while Oliver Cromwell was the Lord Protector of England. A new type of Literature known as restoration literature was being made in this period. This literature was focused on the last years of the Stuarts reign, specifically about the celebration about the return of Charles II. Some of this literature was made before the return of Charles II, but not published due to the laws set earlier on.
When Charles II returned to become king of England in 1660, those men who had signed his father’s death warrant (and were still alive) were tried as regicides (the murderer of a king) and executed. Anyone associated with the execution of Charles was put on trial. The only people to escape were the executioners as no-one knew who they were as they wore masks during the execution.

returned the Rump ParliamentLong Parliament, and Charles II was the king. The return of Charles II had one difference though: the parliament thought that Charles II should be a constitutional monarch, like we have in Canada. Rather than having direct power over the country, the king had to abide to a constitution, which restricted his power, to prevent corruption, such as imprisoning and fining free people for no reason other than for personal profit.

Originally, the test act only applied to the monarch, and military officials. However, during the popish plot, a fictitious plot that asserted that Catholics were out there to take over England, effectively evicted all Catholics from parliament. Furthermore, it also increased the list of acts considered "popish", including the sacrament. It also made it so that professing a catholic faith a crime punishable by the standard for blasphemy. By evicting the Catholics, from all positions of power, it made Puritanism the faith of England.
    Repercussions of the Test act

in England. By the 1678, anti-catholic fever had reached a high. Catholics were being thrown out of power, all across England. It also had the effect, however, on stopping the divine right of kings, by proving, that Parliament was the real power, and the divine right, amounted to moot.
